Kathleen Terjesen joined Bose in July 2015. Based in Framingham, Massachusetts, she is the Head of Global Business Services, which is part of the Bose Finance Organization. Kathleen is accountable for global business operations functions including; Indirect Procurement and Accounts Payable (Source to Pay), Account to Report, Order to Cash, HR technology and support, Payroll, Global Real estate and workplace services, Global Security and Environmental Health and Safety. Before joining the company, Kathleen was Vice President of Shared Business Services, Bridgestone Americas. Kathleen was accountable for Finance and HR shared services functions as well as enterprise master data governance. Prior to her work at Bridgestone, Kathleen worked for Merck & Co, Inc. for 9 years, where she last held the position of Executive Director, Enterprise Services. In this role, she was responsible for Global Travel and Expense, Customer Events, Creative Studios, Merck historical archives and governance of content, capability and experience of the Enterprise Employee Portal. Prior to that she held the role of Executive Director, Global Procure to Pay and was instrumental in establishing and managing the procure to pay processes in four regional shared service centers as part of a multi-year SAP single instance strategy Prior to her tenure at Merck & Co, Kathleen worked for AT&T and held various positions in Finance and Procurement, including Controller for the Chief Information Officer and Head of Direct Purchasing. Kathleen earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., and a Masters Degree in Professional Accounting from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
This is a story of a rapid GBS implementation which took place in under a year. Bose stood up their GBS organization as a fully functioning operation, servicing S2P, O2C, H2R, account to report, global real estate, workplace services and global security. Headquartered in Lisbon and servicing the Americas and Europe, the GBS organization is providing full transactional support backed by global process owners and enabling technology. In addition, RPA is being trialed with supplier requests with plans to expand across multiple process areas. This session is designed to provide a fast track, step-by-step roadmap when building GBS from scratch.
