Charles Morgan is VP Finance Shared Services, a new role created to drive operating efficiencies & standardization into Aetna’s transactional financial processes. In this role, he will lead Aetna in creating a Finance Shared Services organization, an initiative that is an important component in Aetna’s broader Finance Transformation. This includes developing and implementing the finance shared services strategy, finance process standardization, technology roadmap creation & governance, and a variety of servicing models including co-location, in-sourcing, out-sourcing and process automation. Charles joined Aetna from General Motors where he served as Executive Director of Global Business Services. Prior to General Motors he served as the Senior VP of Corporate Technologies at American Express and other Finance executive leadership roles with Marsh Inc., Reuters and HSBC. In his roles at GM and Amex, Charles established and led shared service organizations that transformed their finance processes through complexity elimination and process standardization. Charles started his career qualifying as an Accountant with Deloitte in London, prior to joining their Consulting arm. He has a degree in Computer Science from Cambridge University and is also a qualified Treasurer. He is delighted to be back with his family in Connecticut having spent the last four & half years weekly commuting from New Canaan to Detroit.
